Let your toddler be the star in this app called I’m in Old MacDonald Had a Farm.
I love that your child can be the main character in this app. It’s easy to set up the characters by uploading a photo and sizing it to fit within the frame. Your child can then customise their character by choosing hair styles/colours and accessories.
The graphics are simple and bright and there’s a variety of scenes and animals to work through.
As well as being able to sing along to eight verses of a favourite nursery rhyme, there’s lots of interactive features hidden within each page. Dora’s favourites are throwing mud pies with pigs, drinking slurpy milkshakes and playing peek-a-boo in the stable.
For a giggle, I uploaded my photo too.
We have it installed on the iPad and iPhone. It is one of those apps that comes in handy when you have a tired toddler who needs a distraction. There is a sleepy night time scene with softer music and twinkling stars that may help encourage some winding down time… (not guaranteed – hehe).
It’s not just a great distraction, it’s also educational. There’s a section of ‘Play and Learn Notes’ that lists the many ways you can further engage your toddler using this app. From singing along, naming animals, sorting objects and finding hidden characters, there’s certainly something your toddler will enjoy when playing with this cute app.
It’s recommended for ages 1 – 4 years and costs $1.99 from the App Store.
