Sunday Sweeties – Recipe Linky – As Happy as Pigs in Mud

This gorgeous cake has been popping up on my FB newsfeed all week. Isn’t it delightful? I can’t find the original post to give credit but will keep searching. I also want to see how it was made. It would be ideal for Dora’s Peppa Pig Party that’s coming up next month.

We made our own pizza dough for dinner last night and took it over to mum’s house to create gourmet pizzas. We made it in our bread maker which was incredibly simple BUT we had lots of trouble shaping them into circles. Any tips? I’d love to hear them.

Hi Kaz, we always use a rolling pin and never had any trouble. What was your issue?

I think our dough may have been too sticky. It wouldn’t hold the shape very well. They were wonky but tasty :) We tried a rolling pin too. Those pizzas were better than our other attempts.

I’m going to guess that that is a 2-3 layer 8 or 9″ round cake. I’d light frost around it and then put the Kit Kats on while the frosting is still wet. Use chocolate frosting for the mud and marzipan to make the pigs. :-)

Thanks Camille :) I was wondering if the frosting was a gnache. It looks gooey. I might give it a go and see if I can replicate it.

Very cool cake, looks dangerously delicious. Mum divides the dough up and rolls them in individual balls to let them rise. They always seem to roll out into circles.

Thanks Alicia. I think our dough was too sticky. Pizza night is tomorrow so we’ll give it another try. :)
