Fun activity – Shaving cream painting

Yesterday we tried out an activity that I had been wanting to do with B1 and B2 for a while now. They love getting messy and they love arts and crafts, although, I have not been brave enough to let them go crazy with paint just yet.
Bring out the shaving cream!

Yes it was messy, though shaving cream is easily cleaned off tiles, bodies and clothes.

B1 and B2 had a ball. I must admit Mummy may have had a bit of fun too.

Easy, cheap entertainment. We will definitely be doing this again.

Great for a rainy day activity.

ha ha youre brave! They would have loved it for something new. Mum used to put shaving cream ‘boobs’ on us when we bathed as kids.

It wasn’t as messy as I imagined :-)
It was shaving cream beards that we used to get in the bath. We all became Santa.

That’s such a fabulous idea!!! Unfortunately, our bathroom is mostly white. But hey, I could always just hold my breath and give a go :)

You could Grace. :-) Sneak a breath every now and then though :-)
I considered adding a little food colouring to the shaving cream next time, which would work well on white tiles. Though, as I havn’t tried it myself yet, I can’t guarantee there would be no staining. I have read about some home made bath finger paints that I wanted to try and they have food colouring in them, so I am sure it would be fine. You’re welcome to try it out first and let me know if my walls will be safe haha.

Hehe Emily, I thought the same. B2 tried to eat it once, but after a few attempts and some prompting onto the painting idea he didn’t try to eat it again :-)

Re the coloring: I would let my littles “paint” the patio furniture with shaving cream and used food color to spice things up — didn’t stain even the white resin chairs. Never thought of using the bathroom as a canvas — how fun! Thanks so much for sharing on Busy Monday!
